The sale of 19 commercial properties in the past 12 months is yet another indicator that the recession on Nantucket is now in our wake. In 2012 there were 22 commercial sales for a total of $40 million. And in 2011 there were only 12 commercial sales for a total of $11 million. Some recent notable commercial sales in town include:
25B Washington Street, a multi-unit retail and residential commercial property, listed for $1,795,000 and sold for $1,437,500
82 Easton Street, two separate structures being used as an office building and a studio, not listed, sold for $2,075,000.
9 India Street, formerly DeMarco’s restaurant, not listed, sold for $2,492,500. The owners of American Seasons restaurant are currently renovating and will open up a second restaurant here called The Proprietors.
5 North Water Street, pictured above, not actively listed, sold for $2,500,000.
21 Broad Street, an historic inn, also not listed, sold for $2,800,000.
20 Straight Wharf, formerly Captain Tobey’s restaurant, listed at $3,950,000 and sold for $3,420,000.
35 Main Street – prime location for retail, sold for $3,600,000.
78 Main Street, formerly operated as an inn, was listed for $4,395,000 and sold for $3,820,000.
33 Main Street, listed for $4,695,000 and sold for $4,500,000.
