Hurricane Earl Update – September 2

A Hurricane Warning, issued by the National Weather Service, is in effect for Cape Cod and the Islands from Friday evening into early Saturday morning, but is expected to end on Saturday morning. The rest of the weekend forecast through Labor Day looks clear, sunny and comfortable, with windy conditions only predicted for Saturday afternoon.

Nantucket visitors and residents are advised to carefully monitor storm status and conditions with NOAA’s National Weather Service and Hurricane Center. Local hurricane updates and emergency information can also be found on the Town of Nantucket’s Storm Resources webpage (that includes information on emergency sheltering, lodging for visitors, beach closures, and more), the Inquirer & Mirror’s website, and on WGBH 91.1 FM – Cape & Islands Public Radio.

The Mass.gov website has Hurricane Preparedness Tips for Business Owners that may be helpful.
