Water is the enemy of your home. Please make sure that you have had your home properly winterized, including the outdoor shower and exterior faucets. We have had a very cold snap of weather recently, and it is sobering to see the damage that can occur from frozen pipes. If pipes freeze and your property is on Town water, the water company monitors usage and will typically alert your caretaker. Every homeowner should know where the main shutoff valve is located and how to turn it off in an emergency. Check to make sure that the main shutoff valve works. If it does not work, or if it is difficult to turn, please contact the Water Company and have it replaced. Frozen pipes are an entirely preventable event if the proper precautions are taken!
