Congratulations to Housing Nantucket!

Affordable Housing News:  After years of planning, outreach, and fundraising, Housing Nantucket embarked this week on Phase II of construction at 18 Ticcoma Way. Supporters, including Ken Beaugrand (far right in photo), gathered together to commemorate this new beginning at an official groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday.

Housing Nantucket is a private non-profit that relies on partnerships within the community to develop permanently affordable housing opportunities for Nantucket residents. For this initiative, they teamed up with summer residents Scott and Lisa Stuart, the Nantucket Select Board, the Nantucket Housing Authority, the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, the Community Preservation Committee, the Nantucket Community Foundation, ReMain Nantucket, Cape Cod Five Foundation, and local businesses Thirty Acre Woods, Chip Webster Architects and Dutra Designs. Corporate, foundation, and individual donors to Housing Nantucket’s Community Investment Tax Credit program also provide financial support.

Next week, a three-bedroom structure donated by the Stuarts will be relocated to 18 Ticcoma Way via Housing Nantucket’s House Recycling Program. The property already contains a one bedroom garage apartment (Phase I), which was completed in July 2017.
