A Nantucket Tradition: Halloween on Island

One the the remaining local traditions is the annual Halloween Parade on Nantucket.  Atlantic East is proud to support this fun and family-friendly event again this year.  On Thursday, October 31st, 2019 the Inquirer and Mirror and the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce will again be hosting the parade. Costumed adults and children are asked to begin arriving downtown around 4:30 pm in preparation for the 5:00 pm start of the parade at the fountain at the base of Main Street.

Prior to the parade, a costume contest will be held on the steps of the Methodist Church, where the best-dressed family will be awarded the top prize! After judging, the parade will begin and proceed to the church, where every child will also receive a ribbon and a goodie bag. Most downtown businesses are open for trick-or-treaters!

The Nantucket Coast Guard will be hosting their Haunted House at the Brant Point Coast Guard Station. This will be happening on Oct. 25, Oct. 26, and on Halloween, Oct. 31.
