The traditional 4th of July events are not able to be held as usual on Nantucket this year. The fireworks have been moved to New Years’ Eve (and we encourage yo to come back if you can). And the Main Street water fight, and pie and watermelon eating contests will be back in 2021! Perhaps this is an opportunity to appreciate a more simple time – a beach picnic with immediate family, some fishing or a quiet time to remember what the 4th of July is all about. Especially this year.
