Jane came to Nantucket from Connecticut with her husband and two young daughters in 1972, thinking they would live and work on the island for “two years or so”, as an adventure. Finding they loved the beauty of the island and all it had to offer, they never left, and she returned to teaching French and Spanish, earning her MA in French at Middlebury College. While teaching in the Nantucket schools she was advisor to the Spanish and French Clubs and she started the American Field Service student exchange program in the schools.
In 1986 Jane transferred her teaching skills to a well respected island real estate agency. She continued her volunteer work with AFS, as well as with various island non profits. She served two terms on the Nantucket School Committee and she works with the Literacy Volunteers of the Nantucket Atheneum, tutoring adult English language learners. Jane is a broker, an Accredited Buyers Representative, and a Resort and Second Home Specalist. She is a member of the Cape Cod Board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.
Jane’s favorite things are spending time with her five grand children, and travel with her husband, sometimes combining the two. She is an avid reader who loves to discuss books and current events, and who lives for summer sunsets at the beach.
