Yesterday 33% of Nantucket voters turned out at the pools and supported the Proposition 2 1/2 override to fund the bike path on Hummock Pond Road. There was some urgency to get the path designed and built quickly as a anonymous and private benefactor has pledged $500,000 towards getting it done conditional upon the Town acting quickly. The Hummock Pond Road goes to the popular Cisco area and will be the final major bike path to be built on the island. The vote was 1,841 in favor and 514 opposed.
