At the end of 2010 Congress renewed a tax incentive for private landowners who protect their land with a coluntary conservation agreement. The increased incentive, which was adopted in 2006 and expired at the end of 2009, helped the Nantucket Land Council work with willing landowners on Nantucket to conserve 335 acres of productive natural areas during that time period. The Nantucket Land Council now holds a total of 75 conservation restrictions on almost 1,300 acres of land throughout Nantucket, Tuckernuck and Muskeget Island. For more….
