It is unusual in February to have such a brilliant blue sky as we do today. We appreciate it – especially after many days of gray, rainy, snowy and foggy weather. We are reminded that more blue skies are ahead. The Town of Nantucket reported yesterday that nearly 1,500 islanders have received their first COVID vaccine and over 400 have received both doses. From all reports, the Nantucket Cottage Hospital and Town systems for vaccine distribution are very well organized and functioning smoothly. The hiccup in the system seems to be with acquisition of adequate vaccine supplies from the state. Nantucket is officially in the second half of Phase 2, of the three phase state plan, of the vaccination distribution. Stay tuned for more updates!
