We have just finished the market statistics for 2009 and the most striking thing is how similar it was to 2008 in terms of the number of transactions – virtually the same. The total sales dollars, however, are down 14% from 2008. The average months on the market has dropped from 11 to 9 months in 2009. And the average price of a Nantucket house is still holding at $1,945,000, about where it has been through most of 2009. The average price of a piece of vacant land is $970,000.
