Emergency Care
In the case of a medical emergency, please call 911 or visit Nantucket Cottage Hospital’s Emergency Department at 57 Prospect Street, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our emergency team treats a range of ailments, including traumas, severe respiratory attacks, cardiac events, strokes and seizures, pediatric medical emergencies, bone injuries, extreme burns, and lacerations.

Urgent Access
Urgent Access offers easy and convenient medical care for non-life-threatening conditions and is located in the Anderson Building on the hospital campus. Walk-ins only, no appointments needed. In the summer, Urgent Access is open daily. In the off-season, Urgent Access is open Monday through Saturday. Urgent Access at Nantucket Cottage Hospital is not considered to be an Urgent Care Center by many health insurance plans. Your health insurance plan may require you to get a referral or authorization
Virtual Urgent Care
Mass General Brigham offers virtual urgent care services for many health conditions and minor injuries. Using a smart phone, tablet, or computer, patients can connect to medical providers digitally and discuss health concerns. MGB’s virtual urgent care is available to patients aged 3 and up in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Persons under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Outpatient Services
Nantucket Cottage Hospital provides convenient outpatient services such as lab work, imaging, infusion, and physical therapy. If you receive your medical care on Nantucket, check in with your primary care team about scheduling these services. If you receive your medical care off-island, please call 508-825-1000 so that our team can coordinate with your off-island physicians.
Specialty Care
Over 30 off-island physicians provide specialty care at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on a rotating basis, such as cardiology, oncology, urology, and dermatology. These physicians are experts in their respective fields and provide care to island residents without a trip to the mainland. Specialty appointments are often coordinated through your primary care team.
Primary Care
Nantucket Cottage Hospital’s primary care providers take care of routine needs such as annual physicals, vaccines, and the care of common or chronic health issues.
