Nantucket: Cancels Cranberry Harvest Festival

Cranberry bogThe Nantucket Conservation Foundation has again had to cancel the Cranberry Harvest Festival due to concerns about large gatherings. Usually held in mid-October, the festival typically draws thousands of people to watch and learn about the cranberry harvest. The foundation also organizes family friendly activities such as hayrides, contests and food and drink.

This year the NCF is planning “Cranberry Harvest Month” during October and will kick it off with organized Cranberry Harvest Walks.  As with so many things, they have had to re-imagine the event for the current circumstances.  For a full schedule of events check it out:  Cranberry Harvest Month.
