Housing Nantucket has completed the final of four units located at 7 Surfside Road. There is a huge need on -island for small affordable housing units. Today we saw the two new rental units, just completed, located across the street from Nantucket High School and they are very well designed and built. The plan is to have all four of the units count towards Nantucket’s SHI (Subsidized Housing Inventory) list, a number Nantucket needs to increase if we want control over future 40b developments. Each cottage is one story, with a full basement, and has an open living room/kitchen and dining area, one bedroom and a full bath with tub. Each unit has a washer and dryer as well.
