Generation Safe
A caring community service provided by our Nantucket Fire Department for residents 65 years of age and older. This unadvertised and free program is designed to help with home safety and fire prevention. A home assessment is made to check for property hazards and safety issues to help prevent falls or other injuries. They will also install and inspect Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors. Once signed up, there will be an annual inspection to re-assess any new safety concerns and change the batteries in the detectors. What a fabulous service!
